Familiar faces in Nairobi

I took a taxi downtown this afternoon to meet some friends from orientation who will be working in Nairobi this year. It was a bit surreal to casually meet up with them on a different continent.

We went out to dinner to a Kenyan restaurant and oh how I have missed chipati! Chipati is a thin, buttery type pita (similar to Indian naan) and it's absolutely delicious. And, to spice things up, I tried the goat! It was tender and juicy, and I think I will be choosing it over beef this year.

Scaffolding in Africa = long thin branches. I could spend hours watching the workers confidently leap from one corner to another.
